Were the first gen Q7 brakes 18z? I put these on my car 6 years ago. Car has sat for the last 4 years and I want to replace front rotors. Not sure which to buy and what pads to use.

Yes, all US Q7s had 18Zs.

Go with '03 ML55 (345mm) rotors if you want a single-piece option. The center bore needs to be opened by 1mm. Otherwise Girodisc and JHM sell a 350mm 2pc rotor.

    So you're saying V6 Q7s had 18Zs? I don't think so.

I just looked up part numbers on ETKA and Q7's only have 1 front brake setup, V6 included. So yes every car had 18Z.

That's surprising that Audi would put the bigger more expensive brake option on Q7s that don't need it, especially when the 17Z was available.

Do you have the part numbers? What was the disc size for those rotors? Call me skeptical.

The base Q7 was still over 5,000 lbs. That is a lot of car to stop, and on a premium SUV buyers expect good brakes.
