(Avant) Do I need to drop the entire headliner to get to the rear PS roof drain?

Rain today...headliner in the rear PS of car (cargo area) is SOAKED. Must be the sunroof drain connection back there.

Do I need to drop the entire headliner to get at this connection to seal it up?

    Anyone here BTDT?

No, the entire headliner doesn't have to be removed, but...

...if you want it to dry out, and not start falling apart / sagging, I would strongly advise you remove it, and allow it to dry FLAT.

If the rain caused the tired fabric to separate and sag, what are your plans?

I want to postpone re-upholstery until a more convenient time, so I'm hoping to find some good retainer screws to keep it up temporarily.
Because now, it flaps around with the windows even cracked, and sits atop rear passengers' heads.

Somebody here used this in a B6 Avant but I don't remember who, maybe a post in S4 section.

I've used these before but it looks more grandma-style and is longer than the headliner thickness.
So you end up having to push it into the roof metal to compress it, so that it stops just hanging there to fall out.
