2011 A8L - maintenance cost - brakes, oil change

What should i expect to pay for
- brakes front and rear, rotors and pads
- oil change, filter

At the dealer, and/or at independent specialized shop.

A lot! Just do it your self. Go to ecs for all your parts. And if you not technical with tools just watch some you tube vids on brakes. The concept is the same. If you have any questions when doing it let me know I'll walk you through it.

Realize the front brake rotors are a special design that are seen on more Audis, various BMW's and probably others. Quasi floating design with an alloy center hat to reduce weight. Basically only available from dealers, and where even an ECS will get them. Best pricing for DIY is likely one of the on line dealers--audiusaparts, genuineaudiparts, etc. Also going to complicate an indy brake job, basically meaning you are getting at differences in labor rates. Rotors are pricy too compared to typical cast iron ones.

Oil change: can't locate the oil filter (or a DIY for D4 A8 filter change).

Found it. Done.

Brakes:
a) new pads did not come with pad wear sensor. Can live without. Plug sensor from old pads in to close circuit.
b) can't figure out how to seat the retainer clip/spring on the inside. Any detail photos out there that show were the 'ends' rest on?
