Will a 06 A4 6speed work in my 01 A6 2.7t

I have a chance to get a 6 speed out of an 06 A4 2.0t Quattro for my 01 A6 2.7t Quattro. Simple question, will it work? Thanks in advance

Not really. Not very easily anyway. You could do it, but you'd be about the first one and it would take at least a little customization.
And beyond that you could only use the trans itself, EVERY other part would have to come from a C5 or a couple can come from a B5 A4. If the transmission is FREE and you have a ton of time and are determined then it's worth some research I suppose.
