United LED Fog Lite Install & Review

Installed a set of United U3 360 degree pure white led lites today. I also installed a E-Bay RS4 mesh style grill since I had the bumper off.

No codes? Do these have resistors? How hot do the resistors get if on for a while?

No error out codes . I ed them 1st without the canbus module to see if the error out lite would come on. They didnt trigger any. These lites have built in cooling fans. So the units will stay cool in the summer months

how will these work, lets say, if you go to h2o and have to drive through small oceans?

also, how are they in color compared to the factory hids? same color? more blue-ish?

Nice! At first I saw eBay RS4 grill, then i remembered you are non s-line lol.

Still got my HID fogs in with the waterproof ballast/connectors in the intercooler shrouds with doublesided tape. Over a year through snow and high waters without a single bulb or ballast going out and no codes/resistors needed. Plug & play, but the color is a tad hint bluer.

Dont know about driving thru small oceans.......But they claim to be sealed and waterproof and will operate under water.

Its's like a pure white beam. Its has the same color imo as my 5k Morimoto hid's bi-xenon's. But it is way brighter @ 40 watts @ 4000 lm's. It doesnt throw a glare. It has a more concentrated beam like halogens bulbs are

Sorry no link. I tried to locate them on E-Bay 1st. But I couldnt find them. A friend of mind is a auto electronic accessory and he recommended them. He has installed hundreds of these with no issue's. So I bought them thru his wholesale distributor. I paid like $65.00 bux for them

Missed that RS4 grill in the S4 classifieds the other day for $150. Hate myself for seeing that late.

I really wish someone would put crees in their halo housings and post pics, I was only able to find one thread on this from years ago saying they look bright but behind the wheel the road illumination was disappointing. Anyone have any experience with this? If not il be a guinea pig.

I've toyed with these on a few cars... this is the conclusion. They're fine as fogs, they stink at being headlights. The beam pattern is off and they just don't work well in halogen housings. They will look great for about 10 feet and then there is no light.

That's a shame I'll just stick with over priced halogens I guess until I can get xenon's for a decent price

If you're looking for more light output get a set of good phillips bulbs

That's what I use the extreme visions I believe with the reddish packaging. I just need to get them for my high beams too

Imo this was true with the 1st generation led bulbs. We are now into the 3rd generation of led bulb technology. The beam has been as some manufacturers has a focusing lens. The chips are updated. The leds are improved and brighter. But as you mentioned about the halogens housing. Imo the leds do not have the correct wave pattern to be used in halogens designed housings. But they look great in a projector.

Ive also heard that Sylvania Silver Stars are pretty brite also. But they have a reputation of burning out quicker
