Has anyones clutch pedal been slow to return?

Totally stumped here. Had the brake fluid flushed about 4 months ago, and afterwards the clutch pedal was slow to return (always returns eventually). This happened for about 2 months, then the problem went away. Now I had the whole clutch assembly (flywheel, clutch, pressure plate, all bearings) as well as hydraulics (clutch master and slave) replaced. The clutch feels like new, but every few times (very random) it does the same thing and is slow to return. After pumping the pedal 2 or 3 times when this happens, it goes back to being light as a feather and returns normally.

    Has anyone experienced this before?

I'm not sure if the 5s have this problem, but on my RS4 the self adjusting pressure plate was causing the same sort of issue you're describing. The pedal would come up about halfway and sometimes I would have to pull it all the way with my foot. Just a thought.

Has anyones clutch pedal been slow to return?

Yep. Totally common. Our cars have a CDV (clutch delay valve) built into the stock clutch line. Helps make shifting less jerky for non-accomplished three pedal drivers. Dumb.

    Two solutions:

1: Bleed the clutch (hopefully done with all the replacement work you had though). Might still need a good bleeding though.

2: Replace the clutch line. USP Motorsports makes an awesome part, stainless steel clutch line. It's about $50 (probably $200 or so to have installed). I have it, swear by it. Lots of positive reviews on this app led me to try it before I went in for a new clutch. The only issue I had was what you described plus the occasional hard launch with a soft rising pedal was going to cook the clutch in time anyway.

Thanks mate. Even after the clutch replacement shifts are sometimes jerky, perhaps it's a faulty valve?

It's weird because it only sticks after bleeding the system. Once the fluid is a bit used, it's fine.
