    Do we use H8 bulbs?

Are the Ziza 6000K bulbs any good? Is that the one to get or the 7500K?

6k is cooler than the DRLs so it depends what you are after.

I have this set in mine: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C6FPSA8

Just put some tint on them last night as I'm trying to more closely match them with the DRLs.

    Brightness is awesome though!

I have a set of these in my garage: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B019IDMAXO

Had to modify the base a bit but they work flawlessly. Ended up wanting something brighter.

I can send them your way if you want to cover the shipping.

    Edit: Found a pic

Kind of makes me realize how much my car has changed in the past 6 months and how much of a picture whore it is...

Can someone confirm that the B8.5 uses the H8 bulb? ECS says it does but when you go into the "vehicles it fits" it says B8 S4. But the product description says its for B8.5

The H11 say the same thing but in prod desc it says B8

I use the M'AUTOLIGHT LED Headlights for my fogs and love them! Really bright and are close to the DRL color.

    Yes they're H8 for the B8.5 and H11 for the B8

H11 and H8 bulbs are pretty much the same.

I've ran both; with the H11 you do have to alter the tabs a little to make them fit.

I'm in for pics of the M'Autolight Leds.

If they match the DRLs better guess I'm ordering my 3rd set of new fog lights for no reason.

Question... my passenger side foglight housing is full of condensation and i want to fix that.

Do you need to take off the belly pan and get at them from the back or can you access the bulbs / housing without taking a bunch of crap off? I'm stuck at work and haven't had a chance to look today.

    Thanks guys.

I always go with 5000k, nice pure white. Anything higher will start to get into the blue shades.

Aren't our lights not sealed and they tend to get condensation even when new?

Insert an allen key into the little hole in the top-center of the car side of the fog grill.

Grab it with pliers and pull out. *pop* comes right out.

Grab a T25 and undo the two bolts holding the fog light in.

Unplug it. Take it inside and pull it apart (I think you might need a heatgun/oven)

Clean it out, reseal it and make sure to add some more sealant to be safe.

    Done.

    ---------------------------

I thought about pulling mine apart to black them out like my headlights. Ended up just tinting them for now so they match.

Be careful with the chrome on the inside.

If it is anything like the chrome Audi uses elsewhere it is super fragile.

I need to pull and tint my other fog light tonight let me know if you want some pictures.

How come those Mautolite LEDs have all that extra wiring with them (and cost a lot), and some other LEDs just plug in and are less expensive. Am I missing something?

Although pricey, I went for the Philips LED setup. Buy once, cry once for the name, quality, and correct optical light output. They work and look great.

A lot higher light output Vs the typical led bulbs.

    Not really,

The M'Auto ones are rated at ~2,500 lmn
The ones I currently have at ~3,000 lmn

My guess for them separating the components is heat and space restrictions.

Mine have a big heat-sync/fan on the back of them and barely fit. (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C6FPSA8)

The M'auto ones use passive cooling with copper weave to dissipate the heat. You don't need to be a rocket scientist to see that this is likely a design restriction.

Pulling things apart and putting the power delivery components further away in a box with its own heat-sync adds a ton of flexibility.

Problems I have with mine: 6000k color, is too cool and doesn't match the DRLs. minor: I can hear the fans when the engine is off and it is parked in my garage.

M'Autos are probably better if I could only swallow the price tag.

Some pics for you guys from last night.

There are four tabs, two on each side that hold the fog together:

It is also sealed so some heat and prying should open it right up.

Applied some tinting to mine instead of opening them up and blacking them out. I decided to do this because my current bulbs project out sidewise so reflecting off the mirrors inside is important for proper lighting.

I thought about switching to HIDs to get around this but don't want to deal with the shortfalls of HIDs.

    After tinting:

They are a little darker but still plenty bright enough, I might buy some darker tint to match better as this one has some purple/grey in it instead of straight black. Guess that's what you get for buying cheap tint to play with.
