    Hello!

    When I move from the A4 B6 to Q5, I notice that using the bike rack will be more tricky... :)



    At the moment to help me I using a little baby bench that I had at home:



    Do you guys have some tips or ideas to share?

    A hitch would cost you under $150 & is installed in 30 minutes.

    Then buy a hitch bike rack.

    $150 is way low, maybe $250 if you go with Curt hitches along with install. I went with the Invisihitch and installed it myself. Took me about 3 hours to install it. Works perfectly fine for bike racks which is the main reason I got ours for.

    The Invisihitch is also a great option. I considered it as well, but being in Canada, cost came close enough to the OEM for me that I opted for the OEM and got the OEM controller.

    Problem with rear hitch bike mounts is the interfere with the hatch opening/closing.

    You can get hitch mounted carriers which swing away while the bikes are attached. I have one which is rated for four bikes, but fitting four bikes on there is quite a puzzle.

    My tray style bike rack can tilt down and away from the car. It gives me enough clearance to open the hatch even with bikes loaded.
