My wife's B6 A4 1.8 broke down on the way home from work Monday. She said it just turned off and she lost all power. It would turn over but not stay running. Didn't hear the fuel pump priming like I usually do so I figured it finally died, it had been sounding rough for a little bit now. Towed to the local shop that works on the car and at first they were getting no power to the pump, they checked the relay and fuse and we're getting power there. When they put the relay back in and checked power at the pump again they were getting power. The weird thing is they said they were getting power even with the car off and the key out of the ignition. 1.7v with the car off. What is going on with this? Is that normal? Should I instruct them to replace the pump and the relay? Any help appreciated. Thanks
