Help: NEED to know what type of plastic OEM RS4 bumper is made of

Its abs. I can look for a stamp on mine when I get home. Its in the living room.

pretty sure s4 bumpers are standard plastics.

the rs4 is something different, doesnt like to melt back together..

Send a PM to Nollywood. He is a Master Audi Tech (retired I believe) and lives in Europe somewhere (want to say the UK). If anyone would know, he would. And if not, can find that concrete info for you. Probably your best option if you can not find it on Google.

The B5 RS4 bumpers are not made of the same plastic as that of the A4. It's more brittle, where the A4 bumper would dent, the RS4 one cracks, splits or shatters. It's not easy to repair a crack using the plastic rod welding technique.

It doesn't melt, if a heat gun is directed at it.

The RS4 bumpers, especially the front feels more like a brittle shell.

Would it be best to try a repair on the inside making some kind of unseen glue bond, then bondo fill the outside cracks, smooth and paint?

That's the way they're usually repaired, sometimes reinforced with mesh and resin from the inside.
