    audi A4 2005 2.0 problem

    Hi guys,

i need help please with my audi A4 2004, recently i had that PNDR flashing problem from transmission and sometimes i couldnt get car to reveres, so i took the car to the dealership and after checking it they said that i have to change the TCM, so i changed it and i paid a freaken 4000$ !!

the problem is when i got my car back, it feels very heavy, like motor braking all time,, as soon as i remove my foot from pedal car decelerate and lose its speed and like if i go downhill car would raise rpm and it wont upshift.

i took it to dealership many times ,, and every time i leave it and they say that there is nothing wrong with car. however the problem is still there.

im very frustrated especially after paying that amount of money,, any help would be great!

It sounds like the TCM has not been synced to the car. A new TCM has to be put into "learning mode", otherwise it will have erratic shifts, shift up too late, or downshift too early.

I take it, this is a FWD car, with CVT, right?

To add , even when i change to R now , the gear doesn't engage directly, like if i was on inclined road and car front is facing downhill the car would move downhill for like 30cm before the R gear engage.

It sounds almost like the engagement points are wrong.

I don't know if there's a difference in the transmission, but I know there is in the engines. You have a B7 if you have a 2.0T.

If it's a 2.0, it has a turbo if it's an Audi. Unless you meant 3.0?

I think you'll need to pull codes, and post the results here. It's possible the dealership's giving you a snow job.

Yes, you'll need a shop with VCDS, or at least the equivalent, that can scan the TCU. You may not have a check engine light, yet still have a code stored in your TCU.

The indicator that shows PRNDS or similar on your dash, what's it like? Is it any different from normal? Is it showing the selected gear, or is it all lit up? I can't remember what a CVT indicator is like.
