This first paragraph is a rant: *I'm starting to get tired of how long my posts in this section are, but points must be made. B5 section is old and I had my car before Audi blew up, and our section always got the point off jump street. No need for posts the length of short stories...unless they really were. And literacy is a fundamental that is so enjoyable, once appreciated. Taken for granted, because if you landed as somebody else when brought forth you probably would not even be permitted to learn how to read. So attention span is now the question, you non speed readers. I can not speed read, but have an attention span not credited to not having ADD. But for not being lazy and enjoyment from learning through content read by eyes, and not word of mouth. Content in my posts is usable and quite frankly valuable info from personal perspective, which can save so much time and money for you. And who would not want more of that in their life?!?! OP, read whole post please! End rant.*

Real post starts here: Very common upgrade in the B5 crowd due to the amount of power that can be had on a cheap turbo...that is also cheap to rebuild. Many use a cheap ebay manifold. You just need to look into build threads to see which ones. One person got extra shnazzy and built his own twin scroll. Function>Form proves true because it wasn't the best looking (we don't critique stuff like this because I don't know how to weld period, let along make a functioning twin scroll manifold), but you don't need to spend much to get things done.

Took me a long time for me to learn that lesson (quite expensive lesson over the years, accumlated), and why I'm not a big fan of AZ vendors. Us B5 guys tend to like to get shit done ourselves. And if we can't do it, depend on other members who can get it done. For example, I have a tubular manifold at AZ member's house waiting to be installed right now. Same person who custom installed the FMIC about to be mentioned...for the price of replacement argon gas. Threw him extra anways and always took him out for dinner and drinks when employed at company before last, working around his area on longer gigs with hotel company pay stay.

My contribution on getting shit done was to try and help out not just myself, but the whole community. It was the creation of the Treadstone TR18T (worked with Treadstone over a year on that one...with my own money put up. got it back when done, but had to put it up in the first place). Wanted a quality intercooler that will allow you to keep all grills, fog lights, and still keep AC while being able to handle 400whp. Only way possible prior on my chassis and many VWs was custom, which usually hovered around the $1,000 mark. Even the ER for you guys is around that price. Now, you can get it done for less than half that. All specs used off my B5 for fitment and I still have original CAD drawing when Jason and I finally decided on finished designed via email conversations.

You want something done right...do it yourself. So moral is, don't spend $800+ on a manifold when you don't have to. And to cool that turbo's intake air temp, previous paragraph explains how to get that done now for cheap too. And don't get suckered into thinking vendors have the only solution. Ebay manifolds work. You just need to research which ones work and which ones don't. Get one that works for like $75 shipped, because they all crack no matter how much it costs. Then think outside the box, and prevent that from happening by ceramic coating the manifold and fabbing a brace for the turbo. Don't spend big bucks if you don't have to. Because no matter what, there will always be a better looking and faster car than yours. Mod for you, and not to impress another. That is why I call my B5 my beater. It is exactly that. My hobby that can sit on my driveway for months at a time not even on downtime (have other car, but my mother took it upon her liberty to commandeer it since no cars were driven because I had a work van and she got extremely comfortable with it. needless to say, her car is now unregistered and off the road. I have to drive the beater now. got duped by ma dukes. haha).

I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like a bitch
