Im not sure what you are talking about. Mine does not have a screen but the intercooler has a plastic guard on it.

Thanks but nah it's a little screen/mesh thing that's about 2 inches tall and 2 feet wide and covers the lowest opening on the front, just above the lip. Sorry for the technical terms, ha.

There are two things I can think of.

one, there is a black insert kind of shaped like this: <====|=====|======|=====> that goes right above the lip. (Found the link: https://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B8_S4...ior/ES2540952/)

Or two, there is a protective plastic screen-thing I think ECS sells to protect the heatexchanger for the SC.

I'm not sure which part you're referring to, but I'm curious what the rest of the bumper looks like after being run into a curb...

I assume you mean this https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...le/8k0820746c/

You also need the clips. I have no idea how this would get ripped off by a curb though?

Yeah that's it thanks. No idea how it came out, I guess it flexed the whole bumper? One of the black plastic panels that goes around the fog light (again with the technical terms) is also gone. She basically mashed the two front points (fuck, I don't know what anything's called, sorry) on the bottom edge on either side of the radiator down and I think the whole panel flexed. Damage isn't too severe, I went to the body shop today and they said $950. I'll take pics tomorrow in daylight if I can remember.

She didn't tell me she had done it at first, I came back from a 2-week trip and it wasn't until a couple of days later that I walked up to the car head-on and saw the shit, I thought somebody had backed into me but the missing pieces were nowhere to be found. I was pretty puzzled until I got home and asked her wtf? She was like, sorry, I didn't know I hurt it. yeesh.

Just head over to home depot and pick up a roll of garden mesh wire. You can protect your entire radiator and intercooler for about $10. I did this right after I bought the car and it has help up perfectly. The wire mesh is galvanized and holds up in weather.

I agree with Mike. I used the stainless steel gutter guard material at HD and spray painted it black. held it it place with ss wire. It's been fine for 4 years now.

I used this method when I put the RS style grille on my B8, including painting the material black to make it less visible. If/when I do it again on the B8.5, I'll likely put two layers of it as I found that the material is relatively flimsy and may not put up much resistance to a direct rock strike. I think it's also a good idea to position the screen a little bit off the front of the radiator so that if a rock does hit it, it has some room to deflect and absorb the energy before actually contacting the radiator.
