19" Tire opinions for A/S setup

I recently purchased an 2014 S4 Prestige 6M -- it came with the black peelers and summer tires. Not interested in 2 sets of tires (summer/winter) at this point.
Will be replacing the current Contis with either the Conti DWS06 or Michelin Sport Pilot A/S +3.

Local NTB is running a Buy 2 Get 2 free promo -- with lifetime balance, rotation and road hazard and 3 yr alignment for just over $800 out the door.
Only issue is the only tire available is a Conti SureContact RX -- which by the numbers is identical to the DWS06, simply a model only available at NTB and few others.

Going to contact Continental for more of a comparison, cannot find many substantive reviews...

Any Audi S4 guys familiar with this model or can offer A/S tire advice suggestions...no Kuhmos or Falkens, they wear too quickly...

If only 1 tire I would recommend the A/S3, although I haven't driven the DWS06. Some says the michelin is a 3 season tire, but I had zero issues in the blizzard we got last winter in Nashville (a lot of hills, no salt, and probably 4-6" of snow). They are excellent on dry/wet and very capable in snow in my opinion. You'll get more weather obviously in Philly, but odds are most of that time on plowed roads.

I think you have the right idea though. Either DWS06 or AS3.

I've had the A/S 3 on a couple RWD drive cars I drove in the snow/ice with ease, and I always felt they were just fine for fair/warm weather use. I became a big fan, and will go that route again.

Just picked up my S4 as well, but I'm running winter tires on stock/performance tires on whatever wheels I decided on.

The DWS tires are just about as good as it gets for an A/s tire. Michelins MAY be a little more performance oriented . But the Contis will be better in the inclement weather. BTW, Ive been running A/s tires on my S4s since 2004 here in the Lehigh Valley. Should not be a problem getting you where you need to go in Philly. BTW, before you buy any tires from NTB, make sure they have the proper equipment to mount the tires without damaging the rims AND do a road force balance to make sure you don't have vibrations. All to often, we see guys who take their cars to get new tires only to post that the installer f'd up the rims. BTW, I am currently running the original conti DWS and they work very Dry, Wet or Snow. .

The DWS06 is a better tire. If you compare the RX and DWS06 on Continental's website, they claim the DWS06 is a good bit quieter and has slightly better overall traction.

Michelin AS/3 got me through last winter in the Philly 'burbs just fine.

I'm throwing a set of DWS06 on my stock 19" flowers this weekend FWIW. I have a summer wheel and tire set up, but don't want to get dedicated winters on my OEM wheels since I don't drive in tons of snow frequently. Just need a well rounded tire and I was a fan of the old Conti DWS on my WRX years ago. Very capable for a daily driver car.

    In no particular order:

    Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3
    Bridgestone Potenza RE970AS Pole Position
    Continental Extreme Contact DWS06
    General G-Max A/S 3
    Hankook Ventus S1 noble 2

All of which are really popular choices!
