    Cylinder Soak to remove carbon

    Hey guys, I have read and conducted most of the carbon cleaning advice we discuss here often. I have done intake CC and seafoam via fuel tank and intake temp sensor port.

    Have any of you guys tried a cylinder soak whereby you pour a small amount of seafoam into the spark plug holes, leave it over night and then run the car?

    Any thoughts? I am assuming one needs to get cylinders in top-dead-centre. What is the best way to do this?

    apparently it work, but never tried.

    It might be the reason why the Chris fix how-to ask to turn off the engine while sucking up sea foam. let the car off for few minutes, and then hit the road at wot until there's no more white smoke.

    at the end, it will help to remove what? 20- 25% of the build up ? Better than nothing. According to the chirs fix's observation , it will help to remove carbon around the edge of the piston, which is what you want.

    actually that's not true

    what you want is to remove the carbon from the valves. The valves are the most vulnerable in this situation and must seat perfectly in order to dissipate the intense heat they are subject too. when you start to get carbon buildup the valves cant seat properly and against the vale seats and can not lose heat via heat sync. You then are subject to burned valves.

    As I said originally, I have done the valves, but what seems to happen is it migrates to the cylinder head. Thus my question. I love Chris Fix's videos, very pro, however he doesn't really do a soak, so I am going to try it. Thanks guys.
