'13 B8.5 Engine Dohicky...what is this

Picked up my first Audi, 2013 A4 prestige plus....cockpit looks like a jet fighter.
Still learning everything is has....
I've been around cars a long time but I can't find out or figure out what this is?
It has a rubber casing and the star inside is plastic. It snakes down behind the engine.
I gave it a firm squeeze and cracked it. Looks like its made to have a tool inserted to twist it...
anyone have a clue?

That is the vent for a solenoid. I believe the intake manifold flap solenoid if I remember right. I don't know why they made a huge long line and a huge filter on the end when for years they have all just had a little vent cap right on the solenoids.

The foam in there gets brittle, cracks and crumbles out after a few years...its a stupid design
