MMI selection knob button/mouse broke off

Of course, I'm just out of warranty.

Anybody know how to fix or replace the button?

Or the part number so maybe I could replace it myself?

So looking at that picture closely it looks like the metal clip that goes on the bottom of the knob just fell off. What does the bottom of the knob look like? My wife's volume knob broke off her Q5, and all I had to do was dig the metal clip out with a pick, snap it back on the bottom of the knob, and push the knob back on. It was an easy day.

yep, mine popped off and I found it under the seat. I thought in need of a replacement, but it popped back on and hasn't fallen off since.

The previous owner of my car broke it too and the dealership replaced it with a matte black one for free. Looks way better.

Mine broke also. Bought it from the dealer ( was in a rush ) and the replacement kit comes with 2 , a gloss one and a flat black one.

Any chance the MMI knob can dislodge but, not break off? My daughter hit the side of the knob with her ipad and it works fine to turn and select items on the screen however, when I click the knob down to select, nothing happens on screen.
