So what are you going to replace your C7 with?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
As the C7 model line nears its end, what are people thinking of going with next?

My S6 replacement is still a few years off, but the timing will be right. Audi is going to apparently be formally launching their Audi Sport sub-brand to properly compete with the M and AMG.

If there is an RS6 sedan, that will be the car. Other current options are:

    Porsche Macan (GTS or turbo)
Audi RS3 (if I decide I can deal with the lack of utilitarian space)
Audi S6 (if no RS6 is available)
    Porsche Panamera GTS
Audi Q5 RS (still a rumor)
BMW M5 (finally coming with much needed AWD)
Current Fleet: Porsche 718 Spyder * Audi S5 Sportback * Audi RS5 Sportback
    On order: Audi RSQ8 Performance

    My choices would be

1, S8 although it could be a little big for my liking but still the best car Audi makes imho
2, R8, depends on wether I still need a four door
    3, another S6
4, panamera turbo (new one looks gorgeous)
5, 911 turbo, again depends on practically

But one of the above will be next ride.

    Cheers
    AS6

My A7 is only two months old but I think an S8 is very likely when the kids are older.

If I still think the S8 is too big then probably an S7 but I'll definitely want a V8 so that may mean an RS7.

I keep going back and forth on this one.

Since it pretty much seems confirmed Audi will not be making V8s anymore...

    1. RS7/new S6 (2017)
    2. 911 C4S
    3. R8

I love the big sleeper sedan. But after doing a few track events with the car I can appreciate something more nimble.

Where did you hear no more V8??? However FWIW, the Lykan Hypersport uses a TTV6.

won't replace C7 for a long time. when it's finally time to replace C7, the cars being produced at that time are still on the drawing board now.

I'm really happy with my MY16 S6 (now that its had the trans update), but I'll be having a very close look at the RS4 avant when it's released, especially if it has the electric turbo and 500+hp.

Is this an update for all 2016 S6's? Is it something the dealer does?

C8 RS6 would be perfect. CPO S8 plus or CPO E63 wagon are also on my short list. Frankly, I'm in no rush to replace the S6 unless something spectacular comes along. One thing I will do though ...if it's another Audi, I'll wait for the .5 facelift.

+1. My A6 is paid off, so I'll wait at least two more years before selling. Very please with the C7 A6, so I would like to see what the next generation A6 offers.

That timeline doesn't make sense to me...Audi does a mid-cycle refresh in 2016 but plans to skip to the next generation just 2 years later? It has always been new gen for 3 years, facelift model for 3 more years, then next gen again. C8 is more than likely a 2019 model (which we would see in mid 2018) based on historical norms

My dealer told that C8 A6 will be on sale early or mid 2018, S6 you can buy late 2018 and RS6 2019, so you guys still have to wait one+ year for sure.

I'm thinking of getting the new S5 Sportback with DRC, S7 is just to big and floaty for me, the Audis air suspensions are just too soft for my driving style.

I've decided to go to grad school so I won't be buying any more new cars for a bit. Although I just got a Focus RS so that's fun to swap between with the S6. Hopefully when I get out of grad school the RS6 will be coming our way.

Disagree - in our area, both of those cars would be suitable replacements for a guy with no kids (AFAIK), who at least has the money to afford one, but not a fleet of $100k+ cars. Besides, as Serpent well knows, you're probably looking at an average speed of 4mph in our traffic.

No need for two higher end cars, for all the reasons that Brooklyn noted above. I have another car if I need to go somewhere I don't trust parking situation - or DC. Both of my choices are practical enough for my needs to daily.
