    Any tune-friendly dealerships for svc?

That first oil change is coming up and I'd really rather not blow a couple days getting my car flashed to stock, then back again for hitting the dealership to get that first free oil change done, let alone any possible MMI updates or warranty work for squeaks and rattles. It looks like getting flagged td1 just means I'm another 400 bucks away from non-td1 status--4 hours shop time for them to 'flash me back to stock' I guess.

Proximity to SGV is a huge plus, but I think I'm in for a drive. I did search, but the last thing I found was a 2008 to 2013 thread basically saying Rusnak is the plague.

The truth is, at the end of the day, there are no Tune Friendly dealers. If you have an issue with your vehicle and Audi detects an unauthorized tune and can blame the tune as the cause, they will deny your power-train warranty coverage. In most cases, before the dealer can perform any type of factory warranty repairs, Audi will require the dealer to scan your vehicle with the results ending up with Audi. Any dealer shielding their customers from detection can be held ultimately responsibility for the costs of the repairs.

If your running a tune and it can be detected, don't expect your car to be covered under the power-train warranty.

Personally, I've had excellent experience with Eurocode in Torrance. I have them change my oil every 5k and what's great is they use Motul oil and a new OEM filter. Price is less than the dealer. For those interested, they are the West Coast Master Distributor for APR.

Yeah, I'm pretty much set on just going back to Eurocode for my maintenance. They did my APR tune and will flash me for life (paid the extra), but it's worth it just to go there and not have to spend my life dicking around so cal hoping I find a dealership that doesn't suck for basic maintenance

Another option (incredible of course :)) is my tuning shop, Bestiale, in Culver city. I have great specials running at the moment that you can take advantage of: https://www.facebook.com/bestiale.ne...965493175603:0

Of course I am tune not only friendly, but extremely friendly, this is my philosophy :)

Since you've mentioned Eurocode. I've surfed yelp on Eurocode, there were some not too nice posting on their service. Being a Master Distributor and simply selling parts vs actually providing oil changes is in my opinion- a basic skill. I asked because down the line, my B6 S4 will probablygo in for a timing chain maintenance. Unfortunately as I understand it, one will have to pull the motor and trans as a unit...the timing chan components are behind the engine. So, is Eurocode able to perform this task . Oh , I don't want them to learn on my S4.

To the original Post, sorry to have hijacked your tread.

In my opinion, your B6 S4 would be in very skilled and careful hands at Eurocode. David the Owner and his crew have completely ripped the motor out of his highly modified B5 S4 and rebuilt it. He's also had shop project cars including a B8 A4, B8.5 S4 and currently has a Supercharged R8. Not that I put all my faith in Yelp reviews but Eurocode is currently sitting at 4.5 stars. No business ever runs perfect. Something can always go wrong beyond one's control and some people are just never pleased. I had to dig for a couple negative reviews you mentioned but the majority are high praises with full 5 stars. I won't even let the dealership wash my cars because I don't want to take a chance I'll get spider web scratches in my paint, let alone settle for less quality oil than the Motul Eurocode swears by and uses. These guys are serious Audi enthusiasts and have developed and manufactured many proven aftermarket performance parts for Audis that have been widely praised on these forums.

My point was dealerships are only mod friendly till they get stuck holding the bag with the cost of a repair caused by an unauthorized mod. The folks at Eurocode in Torrance can provide factory required maintenance at more reasonable prices and provide superb skill and service.

    Hi 0396,

We are not a simple parts distributor, our roots started with us building race motors for Audi's and VW's just as we continue to do so today. We have been engaged in this for over 15 years now, and have all the required OEM tools to maintain these vehicles. We are also one of very few people outside of the Audi/VW dealers and personnel to own the OEM scan tool VAS 6150C required to perform all factory routines. We currently have 2 4.2L V8 chain drive S4's at the shop in for chain service. One with bent valves as the timing chain service was not completed in time to save the head. We have also rebuilt from the ground up 4.2 and 5.0 engines in the R8/RS4/RS5 which are pretty similar to the older B6/B7 4.2's.

As for the reviews, yes there are some not so favorable reviews. Some are warranted, and some are not, and not that this is any sort of an excuse, but those reviews you are referring to are between 3-7years old. As far as we know, everything in the last 3 years has been 4-5 stars and we like to think that with a 36 month track record like that, we are on the right path to step up our customer service up to where our technical knowledge is with these cars.
