key i assume would just have to be programmed? would it work on a b8.5?

Sorry I don't know if it works for 8.5. And yes it need programming. Mine was b8 a4.

The keys are one time programming only if they were keyed to a car they can't be re keyed

From what I've researched on the kessy retrofit all the keys have to be coded at once and new keys had to be purchased.

I heard that dealer can reprogram the key.
