    Remove Symphony 2 keys

Needing to remove the Symphony 2 head unit from my wife's '02 A4, I ordered and just received the relevant Schwaben tool set from ECS. Problem is, it came with only 2 of the Symphony 2 keys, instead of 4. Well, curiosity and impatience won out over good judgment again, and I tried to remove it with 2 keys. So now I have 2 keys sticking out of the SOB and can't figure out how to get them out. Is there any way to get these out before I get in 2 more keys? Or do I have to leave the keys sticking out of the stereo for the next week or two? If I do, guaranteed my wife will whack one of them with something, destroying the key and the stereo.

You might get lucky wiggling and pulling, but probably not. There's little locking tabs that are designed to hold the key in place. If you could easily remove the keys, it would be a major pain to remove the stereo.

You may have better luck finding something to put in the other 2 slots so you can pull the head unit out. If that doesn't work, push the keys towards the left/right sides, away from the center and try pulling gently to see if you can get them out.

Cut a a strip of credit card or similar, 8mm wide, with 45 degree taper on the end, stick that in the bottom two. (taper inwards, flat edge out).
