    Steering Wheel Paddles

Hey Fellas- I have a 2015 allroad with the 3 spoke steering wheel. The plastic paddle shifters feel cheap and are too small. Will these extended aluminum paddles fix those issues? Lastly, are the paddles in the ebay link the same as those in the Europrice link?

    Thanks,

    ben

    Hi Ben,

I also have a B8.5 and replaced/or should I say, added extensions recently.

I fully agree with what you said, how the OEM paddes are way too small and don't feel like a quality part. My wifes 2013 Subaru XV paddles even feels better, in gloss satin silver, its longer than the Audi's and has a groove on the rear for finger grip.

I mainly replaced it to give it a better appearance. since the vehicle is a 7sp DSG sports auto, I never find a reason to use it.

The ones pictured in your links I believe are for the higher range Audis, such as the RS... Aside from a better feel by touching...I don't think a few mm extra would make a significant difference... although I could be wrong... sometimes a subtle change makes a whole world of difference.

I replaced mine with this type on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Pair-Gear-Sh...xXgklT&vxp=mtr

The only issues I found is that anything that's smooth on the back, feels crap and wrong., it needs to have grooves or at least a curve for added grip, not a smooth back.

Also, I can see why Audi did not design long shifter paddles as apposed other sports cars such as GTR 35, Ferraris etc...

its because if you happen to turn the wheel at the same time of pulling one of the levers such as, Cruise Control, wiper blades or high beam... the tip of the long extension actually crosses paths and bumps into one another.

that's what Ive experienced anyways, at least with the short extensions you've shown, you probably wont have that issue.

    good luck
