    Attempting a clutch change.

Hey guys, just been reading through the clutch replacement diy on audirevolution and the guy uses an engine support beam to hold the engine while the subframe is off. I don't have one of these and neither do I wish to spend the money on something I'm only going to use once.
So I was wondering, can I just use a jack or axle stands under the sump to hold it up? I could possibly make one but it seems like more effort than its worth. Any other ideas?

I've done it numerous times without supporting the motor. You'll probably need to lower the subframe a bit to get those 3 bottom bolts, afterwards just make sure to tighten it back up when you get the trans off. The motor mounts and snub will keep the engine in place.
