Say you were offered to get all your parts at the cheapest possible cot available, like distributor level cost or something like that. So you could get custom made forged rod pistuon and could get the JH Motorsports at a lowered cost like head, blower and there new timing rebuild kit and push this beyond the 450, 550 or more whp would you take the offer? Say you could do a 15 - 20k rebuild for $10k would you do it?

Very tempting, but would depend on your disposable income and available time.

I'd probably do it - once my engine kicked it. That's a pretty good deal IMO

How real is this fictional situation? Could you hook a brother up with a timing chain rebuild kit?

Also yes, absolutely would do a $10k rebuild. I've thought about getting into a newer and/or cheaper car many times but I want to keep my S4 going forever!!

Like I said this is very "Theoretical" and no conversations have been had with 1 particular supplier so it not something set in stone but before I even put this type of thing in motion I was curious how other people felt. Custom built rod and pistons no problem all day I can do those at stupid costs. But some of the other parts from said vendor would be under negotiations at this point.

So I know there may be intrigue but I don't want to jump the gun yet. I absolutely love my car and will never get rid of it and have tons of plans for it. As all you know though a lot of this is very cost prohibitive and I was curious how other B6 S4 owners would feel if things worked out right to see such a build. Some I am still figuring out a lot of the costs and doing my research which there is a lot of details to go over I will start releasing some more details. Until they are set in stone though I don't want to be talking out of my a$$. I like to toss ideas around see how the community feels or if they think it would be worth it. This not something that would start tomorrow but if I can get certain details ironed down I will share more in depth detail.

    Gautum,

While I have no affiliation with Jh I do love what they hack done for the B6 world. I personally have bought through them before and currently run there light weight crank pulley. I have no problems with the company ground up. They had great customer service the parts are quality and everything I have bought from them was what I expected or better.

That being said I would not be able to help a brother out even thought I would love to! What I can offer is in.my experience their quality is great and the new timing kit (plus) they are offering is a great price. Ive. looked and pricing this together with stock parts was substantially more and you are not receiving the upgraded parts.

Point is if you love the car I personally think it is a good investment. Especially if you can do the work youself.

Oh I know! I've bought parts from JHM myself and I am extremely happy with the quality and performance of said parts. Really hope things work out for you! Keep us posted with pics and details if this project gets a green light!
