Sorry I run out of words for the tittle. This my current problem, I current speed sensor ir torn, so I ordered one but, I noticed it has more connectors than the original, the new one has 1 big round plug, 2 black plugs and another red one. The old one seems to only have 1 little black plug, but supposedly both of them are good for my vehicle (2001 A4 1.8T Quattro). I read a couple of arguments right, one them carries the break pads wear sensor, is that why it has additional plugs even though my car is not equipped with it?

    Thanks in advance!

You pretty much have it right. To keep things tidy, VW piggybacked the wiring for the brake wear sensor on the same cable as the ABS wires. IIRC, on the chassis end the red is for ABS and the black is for wear sensor. On the hub end, the black is again for the wear sensor. On the side of the car not equipped with a wear sensor those connectors remain unconnected.
