What are these wires for?

Hi everyone,

I'm in process of replacing the ambient temp sensor in my RS4 and believe these bare wires are perhaps supposed to be for it. I found this attached on the inside of the drivers side bumper, the replacement sensor I ordered does not fit leading me to believe that perhaps it was torn off. I do currently have a code for G17 Open or Short to plus. If anyone has any ideas or input I'd appreciate it. Here's a couple pics of the wiring and plug.

not sure, but follow up under rad support, could be hood switch wiring?

According to the Parts catalogue its for the windscreen washer system, could be the connector for the Headlight washers if it's on the front bumper.

Part Nr: 1J0973722 (Flat contact housing with contact locking mechanism windscreen washer system 2 pin black)

Thanks, RS4FAN. So I wonder where in the F my outside temp sensor is hiding, I can't find it for the life of me.
