How to properly test a waste gate + N75?

How would you test a waste gate? Just blow in the air tube and see if there's any leaks? As for the N75, is there a way to blow in it to see if air passes or not to know if it's good?

Connect a line directly to the waste gate and then slowly increase psi from air compressor until you see/hear it open.

Generally that is the simplest way to do it. It is also a nice way to make sure it is cracking at the proper psi.

    Thanks,

What kind of PSI should I see when it starts to "actuate" ?

Depends on the turbo. Stock k03 may be different than a K04 or bigger turbo. I don't remember the k03 waste gate opening pressure.

My current one is somewhere between 10 & 15 psi

I have been wondering if there is a way to test the N75 valve via vagcom? I had troubles with the n75 valve, hell I went through 3 of them in about a month, but I think it was due to faulty vacuum line. The first time I replaced the N75 valve I was only getting about 15psi . Popped a new valve in and instantly had 20 psi. I only replaced it due to research and just kinda guessing. Would have been nice if I knew a way to properly diagnose a faulty valve.

A wastegate require vacuum to operate, you can't just connect a compressor to it. you'll close it more...

Pressure to the waste gate will push it open. N75 works to reduce the effective pressure seen by the waste gate to slow/prevent it from opening

You can determine waste gate preload with an air compressor

Oh shoot. I was thinking of the DV. Derp.

Not even our DV but a 1.8t DV. DOUBLE Derp!
