This little tool grips onto the large nut of the inner tie rod and doesn't mar the surface much (very little marring occurs)
When you use a long extension and decent torque wrench, you should be able to achieve your desired torque to around 74-75 ft lbs.
As far as clearance goes, getting the upper control arm ball joints and pinch bolt off should help--I would wedge something in between the wall of the fender liner and brake caliper; that way the spindle doesn't wander.
