A3 2010 8P Remote Key Locking Not Working

Hi Guys,

I thought I would post here for some help with my A3.

Awhile ago I was having issues with my A3 locking from the remote, it would unlock fine sometimes but other times it would require a couple presses, I thought it was the battery so I replaced it, now the remote locking does not work at all.

I then tried the spare key which did not need a battery replacement, and still nothing.

I have also tried the various re-syncing procedures I have found online with no luck.

I think it may be the central locking fuse but I am not too sure, will check this soon when I have time.

The manual unlocking and locking work fine, so I'm not really in a rush, just a quality of life thing.

I might try the dealership but that is a last resort because I have a feeling they might charge a small fortune.

Update: Ended up taking the key to the dealership and they said it had completely lost sync with the car therefore the manual key sync in the manual didn't work, it needed to be fully reset. They reset it and it took 20 minutes and only costed $100. If anyone else is having this problem, this is probably the simplest solution, even though it might not be the cheapest.

that is 1/2 the price of a vcds cabel and for only one job. I cannot stress how important purchasing a vcds cable for our cars. Invaluable as you save thousands on worthless stealership fixes

Where can I find a legitimate ross tech cable for $50, the cheapest ones I've seen are $250+? I know I could have fixed this with VCDS, just didn't have the time or knowledge at this point.
