those real life pics are starting to change my mind about the front end. i think it will actually look pretty nice in person. the design's really growing on me. i think the b9 s5 looks best in sportback form.

I'm feeling it more and more. It's going to look really good rolling around I think. Just picture... silver w/ BO, about a 40mm drop, 10.5 CH-R, red interior etc. I do think I'll have to get a euro front cover to rid of the lenses. Those even painted may drive me nuts. From the vid... 7:04-7:08

Obviously it will be a better car too. Excited to see it in person.

The more real life pics i see of it the more it grows on me. I can picture silver on red with the ci-r ;) Hate to admit that my first impressions of the car were wrong but with the sportback release i'm liking it more and more.

I haven't been a fan of audis of recent but i'm not afraid to admit this one tickles my pickle. How soon are you getting into one? Replacing the sq?

The moment Tommy can order. Been talking with him about it today. And yes, replacing the SQ. we'll

just because BMW has decided to bastardize their coupes doesn't mean that AUDI has to follow suit ... offer this as a variant of the (already) 4 door S4 ... leave the 5's as a coupe as they were intended.

Why would they offer it as a s4 when it has much more in common with a s5..it's literally a s5 with two extra doors and a hatch.

the s4 has a completely different body despite the fact that it is built on a variant of the chassis underpinning the s5. it has a different design language and shares virtually no exterior dimension or component with the s5.

a/s5 is whatever audi markets it to be. i'm all for a four-door car that employs the practical benefits of a sedan packaged into the silhouette of a coupe. what if audi one day decided to come out with a two-door a7..should we cry foul because the a7 is 'meant to be' a four-door hatch?

actually mercedes started this 4 door coupe bullsht with the CLS.. personally i hate 4 door coupes.. the Sport back does look good in this clip though.. the Q is too square to be that small

Not sure what to think about the new B9 design, somewhat like it, somewhat seems not agressive at all and sort of reminds me every other new car design out there. Sort of a grey "mass" that you don't really notice in the traffic. If you remove the Audi badge most people would problably have different opinion about the design of this car i'm afraid. 8.5 seems to be perfect, they should have made that even more agressive instead of a whole redesign.

Also that q5 is essentially a q7, only reason one would ever buy a q5 is because they dont "need" q7, which is probably a financial issue lol.

I feel like some are not remembering the B8 Sportback (8TA) was introduced in 09 IIRC. This is not a new thing. Audi has been screwing up for a good 8 years now.

my point exactly ... and by adding 2 doors and the letters GRAN doesn't make the 4/6 series coupes either a coupe or GRAN ... although I believe the original description of the early 3 series' were a 2 door "sedan" ... just easier I guess to put me in the "not a fan" category.

I agree that its 90% beautiful and 10% flawed. But that 10% is a lot. Its the whole front end of the car. The face. Its ugly. Im not alone on this. Im not gonna buy a car thinking i COULD make it look halfway decent when there are other options out there thats pretty much already perfect out of the box

I have no doubt u can make ur b9 5 the best looking one out there. But it still doesnt change the fact that it has a hideous front end (imo). Will still respect it for sure

Id pick the a4 over the a5 10x over

Be little more open special yellow. It'll help you more than you know. If you must continue to sour the excitement for something we've wanted for a very long time, keep it in the CB. Let others make their choice, and not be influenced by haters, join your army etc.

As for the A4, it is growing on me. The nose is certainly better. It is however, pretty watered down looking. In person, it's no better. I gave it a shot in person. I forgot about it quickly. Do I hate it... not at all. Just not the model in the line for me.

Totally agree, I'm actually looking forward to Mops build on this if he picks it up. I like almost every angle of the new 5's but maybe the black optics package or the RS could improve the front quite a bit. I guess I'm just surprised how Audi changed the front styling so drastically from the B8 models, from curvy and subtle lines to the new mustang hood and a mishmash of styling cues that don't seem to come together for me. Either way I'm looking forward to seeing the builds!

I hate the new B9 A4. But this sport back, this is something else. I just want to know when I can order one. and when the expected arrival date is. Has to be soon if that can is over in the US some where. Notice it's a US spec, look at the plate frame in the front grill.

I may not even grab one. Who knows. If I do, and most say it's ugly, I'll be just fine with that. I'm not for the forum, the gram etc. Most were quite blunt about my move to an SQ (interim while waiting on the SB). That dude has gotten more love than the 5. From guys that never even had a Q on the radar. I know MANY that dumped their 4's, 5's etc to do one after seeing what they can look like from myself and many others on here. I'm just saying don't be so damn negative. No matter how we feel about the SB and other new models in the end, just be happy we're getting some new offerings. This is not me being sensitive at about the vehicle, just about the vibe. Those that know me IRL will confirm it's difficult to hurt this butt

What would be fun.... post up your lady friends and we'll see how high and mighty you actually are IRL. Or aren't

I assume I'll see all 9's and 10's.
