Please let me know, I'm thinking of trading in my low mileage S7 (9000)K for a 2017 Shelby gt350. I was looking at the rs7 but with two kids in college it would be a stretch. The best deal I got so far is a $60640 Shelby and 4K back my car had a $90800 window sticker.

Maybe you're just crazy for trying to trade in your S7 at a Ford dealer, if that's what you're doing. I'm sure you know you'd likely get more in a private sale, but I would try to sell the S7 to a Carmax before trading it at a Ford dealer. I'm also sure you know that you are hit hardest in terms of depreciation within the first 3 years of a new car's life, so a third of the value doesn't seem that outrageous in my eyes; especially when we are talking about a $90k sticker in 2013/2014 for the 2014 MY.

Seems low. I was seeing trade-in's in the high $60's for my ~$80k MSRP 2016 S6.

I looked at the Shelby before buying my A7, love what ford has done with the Mustang lately.

Consider the sales tax credit you're getting at the dealer if the GT350 is new. Nearly $5500 at 9% and equivalent to 66k private sale with that factored in.

It's not crazy, they are just totally different cars. It sounds like you no longer need a 4 door, so it may be a good move for you.

    I say have both :)

If I'm not mistaken the OP was saying that the best deal he could get on a Shelby is 60K, not what they are offering him on trade in.

Thanks guys, the dealer had a $20K adjusted value mark up on this 2017 Shelby gt350. They came down to 2K over window sticker so the price for the Shelby is now $62640 and gave me a trade in value for my 2014 S7 of $66640 so I would walk away with the gt350 and 4K in my pocket. I told them 6K and they have a deal but the manager said he will get back to me. I have not had a American sports car in 18 yrs my last American car was a 1998 Corvette. Since then I've had BMW (2)M5's (2)M3's and a Nissan GT-R then in 2012 Bought my A7 and in 2014 ordered my S7. I miss a proper manual sports car, I drove a buddy's 2016 Shelby gt350 and got hooked. Love the intoxicanting sound and the feel of manual trans, the hadeling is awesome but the ride is a little rough on the Chicago streets. But on the other hand it's hard to let my S7 go. My wife wants me to keep the S7 and so does my 11yrs old daughter. I think it's me I just get bored with my cars to fast🤔

Interiors are kind of cheesy with the switches, plastic door cards. I just couldn't imagine going to a ford from Audi.

If you love it, go for it. Personally I can't get excited about Mustangs and still have some trouble respecting them (though they've come a long way from the '90s, they are again behind what GM is offering).

That 5.2 flat plane crank engine in the new GT350 Shelby Mustang is pretty awesome, but the car is only RWD & two door. It not really a daily driver commuter family car.

If it meets your needs go for it.

In my 20"s I was a Chevy guy had a 1990 camaro Z28 5.7 350 and was racing my buddy's in their 5.0 Mustangs (those were the good old days) then I had a few vett's these were not my daly drivers. I'm a Flooring and Counter Tops contractor by trade so for work I drive my truck or van or cammry. I know the new ZL1 will be faster but it doesn't stir the soul like this gt350 it's a great weekend ride and a few days a year track car.

Those mustangs are great performance to value. But the interior just sucks and I can't imagine going from refined German to American plastic.

I think your mind is already made up. Since it is going to be your weekend toy I would prefer the GT350. Though I don't own one, I wouldn't think the S7 would give you that "weekend toy" feeling. It makes one hell of a DD though! There's just something to be said for a high revving N/A V8 with a proper transmission.

I totally agree with you about the interior, I had the same issue with my GT-R coming from my BMW e60 M5 the Nissan felt cheap inside but the performance was crazy fast.

You will miss the suspension of the S7. I have a 2014 GT500 and the interior is cheap compared to the Audi and the ride will beat you to death. Now the 350 has a different suspension, but it is still rough. Don't pay any ADM on a non R car. If it were me, I'd wait for the new GT500, even though one hasn't been announced. If it does get announced, prices for the GT350 will crash. If historical prices are similar, the GT350R will hold its value much better, but good luck getting one anywhere near MSRP right now.

No one is buying a fricking Shelby for the interior. I wouldn't trade my daily in for one, but if I had the spare coin for a weekend/track car, I'd give it a hard look, along with the 'vette. There is something about the sound of a Mustang that just stirs the knuckle dragger in me.

The Shelby is pretty cost effective, for the same price it would be a well used P-car.

When I bought the S6, my alternative was a used 2014 porsche 911, but the S6 is more practical and less flashy.

Just a quick update, looks like I will be keeping the S7 till next spring at least and then see how things go. I almost made the deal with the manager, but then one of the owners came and said he just can't sell me the Shelby for just 1K over msrp, the best he can do is 3K over (tells me he's giving me a huge discount from his 20K over msrp) I told him thank but I'm reluctant to pay the 1K over. So I walked out. The store manager call me and said to give him some time to work on the owner to change his mind. I told him I will wait till next year and see how things are going. The deal I had going was for me to trade in my S7 for the Shelby and get 5K back. I told them I wanted at the least 6K but the most he was offering was 4K so after a few days he said he will do 5K. One of the Store owners screwed the deal, offering me only 2K. just for the record I'm glad things did not work out. I would have missed the quality of the Audi, but also would have enjoyed the rawness of the Shelby.
ps Thanks for all your inputs 👌 👍👍
