New B8 owner with questions.

Been a LONG time looker on the S4 platform but finally yesterday took the 3 hour drive to pick this 2012 up after selling my beloved E46 M3. Needed a sedan and I didn't want to go the V8 route. So far very happy with it...so is the wife. Car is nasty. Drove it through a monsoon yesterday. This weekend it will get some love.



Got a few things to fix. Due to the base here being a pain in the butt about front plate, I have to make this more presentable. But just got make it temporarily since I will change the registration next year to Fl.



My first question though.

How do I know if I have adaptive lighting?

If you start the car in the dark, you'll notice the headlights moving up and down and side to side in order to set themselves.
The way to tell is once you get moving and turn the wheel you'll notice the headlights moving with the wheel.

This. And to expand on it, non-adaptive headlights will still move up and down when you start the car, but will never move side to side.

Another question about maintenance. I'm used to my old M3 where there are different intervals of maintenance. I went to ECS site and all there is a 40k mile service kit which is pretty much and oil/spark plug and filters change kits. I know there has to be more than that. The car has 42k miles and it is a DSG. I will do the kit next weekend but what else should be done and at what intervals?

35k is the dsg service.

Check with your local Audi dealer or Audi of America before buying anything. A previous owner may have purchased Audi care (covers scheduled maintenance through the 45k interval, or thereabouts).
