Meh. RS models have always been widebody. While this sounds awesome and looks pretty good, I wanted to see widebody S3. Looks like facelift S3. (ie. front and rear bumper)

The B7 RS4 is a perfect example of this. The B7 S4 was awesome looking. The B7 RS4 was widebody and was ridiculous, while still being "Audi-understated".) The styling of the RS cars has not been taken lightly in the past and shouldn't be today.

This is all my opinion. I'm sure it's a hoot to drive. I just wish it was actually a widebody, like the clubsport or maybe slightly less rude.

Depending on pricing my decision is rs3 and trade in the s3 or I was planning a full clubsport body widebody. Already spoke with a local shop just need to collect more parts and things to get the ball rolling.
Might just go rs3 and proceed with the clubsport styling on that as it has the motor and trans and updated haldex compared to our s3's

I won't dispute this at all, b7 rs4 was my dream car in my younger years, I even put RS4 reps on my MKVI 2012 Jetta.............

Thing about b7 rs4 (b7s in general) I read too many stories on carbon build-up horror stories it legit scared me off. I backed out of a b7 a4 back in the day because of this and my pockets are not what they are today so it was a smart choice.

Unless I misunderstand your comment - the RS3 is wider than the S3!

I just came in here to address this.............upon further review the RS3 def looks wider from the rear...........

Only thing I need to do is change the stock wheels, but I f******* love it.

From the current front page article of Audizine:

The new top athlete in the compact segment also expresses its sporty character visually. The Singleframe with its three-dimensional honeycomb grille bears the quattro logo along the bottom. This is no different than the look (from a width standpoint) of an S3 with aftermarket wheels from the rear. So, without getting into every detail of what was changed, I was simply giving my opinion that this car looks like an S3 with a facelift. It does not look like a widebody S3 at all. Does that matter to some or most? Probably not.

The clubsport though....Hnnnnggghhhh

^^ I got the same car as you, so what would be your next car if you are even planning to upgrade anytime soon? I do understand what your say if it is even called a complaint but with the "subtle" face lift as people are saying, new tech and bigger engine......I am in. I do like the TTRS but its not practical for me at all. Ill drive my S3 all through 2017 for sure and see if I change opinion by then but as of now...going to hold off on the modding I had planned.

Hi guys. New to the thread. I currently have an m235i bimmer, and have been a BMW guy historically. Put down a deposit on the rs3 today.

Audi lease deals have typically been pretty poor, so I wanted to get a feel for where you true Audi enthusiasts think this will lease.

If this is close to the m3, I'll just get an m3, but if it's in the high 6's to 7's, I'll take a harder look.

My local dealer called me to mention the rs3 but the convo ended there. I inquired on how to place a deposit for a custom build with exclusive paint etc. They weren't able to help me just yet. Any info your dealer that I can possibly contact and see about ordering as well?

I am always planning to upgrade...or better yet, change. I just don't keep cars for very long usually. The RS3 looks ok, but to me looks no different from an S3. Like an S3 with a body kit.

BUT, then you mentioned performance, etc. This was exactly my point. I would HAVE to drive this car and love it to make me buy it over an S3. I like an S3. I don't love it. It leaves alot to be desired. It's small, it's sort of crude as far as interior (for it's price point) and it doesn't handle that well stock. But this is why we modify. I am growing accustomed to the S3, but won't be butthurt when it goes. I'll drive the RS3 and see what happens.

I hate that this was the outcome but the reveal has left me disappointed, especially considering what could have been:

I understand it is concept and would have been modified for production, but the RS3 ending up being an S3 Plus rather than something very special. Wheels are bland, rear diffuser is uninspiring, I do like the front and the interior, but the RS is supposed to be truly unique all around. They got the engine right (not that is was a surprise) but the sides (fenders) and rear needed much more work, not just the front.

Anyways sorry for the hate, just disappointed because I would have paid a small fortune for anything that looked even close to the clubsport concept.

I agree - there's a pristine rs4 in my office parking lot, and the fender flares make that car. Disappointed we didn't get a more muscular stance with the rs3...

Def interested in this info also, I'm strongly considering trade in why I put the modding on pause. Also I wonder how hard or easy this will be to get if I don't put a deposit down or hold off.......

I'm almost certain this will be cheaper than a c63, M3. (M2 is even smaller than s3 I can't do it)

Also - I put down a deposit because this dealership - one of the larger dealerships in the northeast, is apparently only going to get 3 allocations, and there was already someone ahead of me on the list.

Who knows whether there is truth to this claim, but I wanted to make sure I had the choice to pass.

Three actually doesn't sound crazy to me though in comparison with the m2.

Regardless, if the RS3 doesn't price the way I'm hoping it will, I'll stick with BMW.

PRICE will def be the deal breaker.......I don't plan to get a rs3 without all the works either since my current is loaded up (def would have to get new virtual cockpit on any Audi in my opinion), with a loaded up new a4 the the way it is price wise I don't blame ya at all....

We shall see.

I just did this comparo, loaded A4 to S3, pretty crazy what Audi is commanding for a loaded A4.

My guess is the RS3 will be ridiculously priced out the gate, probably above a loaded 2018 S4.

Best comparison is to price a BMW M2 and a Mercedes CLA AMC with your options on their websites. Using this it should be somewhere in the low 50's starting.

I can lease an m3 with a 72k sticker, with a $5500 multiple security deposit for $800 a month.

If the RS3 isn't underneath that - (and I suspect it won't be as Audi'a lease terribly) - I'm not a player.

I agree 100%, as much as I love Audi if the price sucks, yea def.

Also..........my "fanboy" -ism has settled down, they legit screwed us with Clubsport Quattro concept upon looking again.

I may just trade up to a 17 s3 with the works or just start my build in 2017.

The indications in the UK are that like the S3 SB/ RS3 SB there will be a £7-10k premium between the two if you want a rough guide so the RS3 SB was a few pounds off £40K IIRC with the S3 SB at £33k. Then add on 15-20% of list price on decent options (dynamic pack, panoramic roof, super sports seats, paint, wheels etc. and you'll have a car in the UK that will be early to mid £50's. If you opt ceramics then it will easily be mid £50's, top out at £60K. Was going to hold out for this but then I could get a used RS7 with more kit on and ceramics for less than my optioned RS3 saloon so it was a no brainer.

VWFS is useless recently; quoted me 8.9% on a new car and 16.9% on a used car, got 4.0% on a used PCP finance deal from my bank in the end with better GFV than what Audi could give so I have more equity in the car at the end.

It's up on the Audi UK website as arrival late 2017 and 0-62 of 4.1 (more likely high 3's)

I was just talking to my best friend who is looking to get the rs3 (I might very likely also trade in my car for this) but if this thing exceeds $60k its a no go for us both.

Still don't get how they played us on this, but I still like the rs3. IF this hit AMG/M price range id would be in for sure.
