I have been lurking for a while. Mostly to try and solve this problem and I have hit a wall with it.
I have a 2008 Audi A4 B8 with MMI 2G High with NAV and 6-cd Changer in the dash but no Bluetooth. In the glove box is the MMI interface which came with an Apple 30 Pin cable. This all works fine with my old iPod.
However, I cannot get my iPhone 6 to talk to MMI at all.
What I have tried so far -
- Genuine Apple 30 pin to lightning converter - Eventually tells me that there are no playable tracks on my device
- Genuine Audi MMI to lightning cable (white grommet) - device not connected or not recognized on the car screen
- Tune2Air WMA3000a - Device not recognized or not connected on the screen. Blue light on the tune2air never comes on. It does come on if I connect it via USB to my laptop so the device is working.
All software updates to the MMI have been done (first thing I tried to see if that solved the apple converter issue)
So I have run out of options. Am I missing something blindingly obvious? Is there another solution that I haven't considered yet? Or, as I am beginning to suspect, am I going to have to go back to using an syncing an iPod rather than using Apple Music/spotify?
