Instrumental Cluster Flash

Recently my cluster started to flash at totally random times, no patter what so ever sometimes fast flash sometimes once in awhile, sometimes my screen looks like a scene out of Matrix with numbers and letters everywhere but when it does start messing up there are always randoms bars at the bottom. Sometimes the whole row is full of bars at times just a couple. Any advice where to start looking for the problem? Planning to take it out this weekend and inspect the whole instrumental cluster. Probably damaged ribbon that connects the screen to the circuit board. Check it hasn't come unseated and replace if necessary.

Exactly my thoughts...
Right beneath the LCD display are 2 rubber ribbons which contain tiny wires for connectivity.
Unmount all and check the (metal) frame around screen, which sets pressure on the screen, is not loose in anyway.
