It happened one day while driving.....I have an a4 b7 6 speed auto.....the PRNDS disappeared and the transmission went into limp mode which I believe is 3rd gear....I was out of town so I disconnected my battery for a while when I connected it everything was fine.....for about 3000 miles now it has been doing it non stop! Scanner says u0101 no communication with transmission control module....I've done my research and cannot find anything so here I am....thanks

If i'm not mistaken, the TCM is located inside the transmission. By what I've read from other post, this usually means the TCM is dead and there needs to be replaced. I have a 6 speed so what do I know...

I did find out its inside the ttansmission.....if we're bad wouldn't it just be done? My mechanic told me to check the connection at my transmission.....any more thoughts or advice would be great!
