Help!!!

My buddy's 2000 A4 1.8t Broke down. Don't know what it is.

Symptoms:
Limp mode
No throttle response
And engine noise. No oil light.

Check oil level. Check codes. Report back.

Put an oil soaked rag into the fuel tank leaving some exposed and light it on fire. That should fix it.

Seriously though. Is it still running at all? Will it restart after it has been turned off? Flashing CEL or it just won't come out of limp mode?

No check engine light. It restarted once and there was no throttle response now it won't start

Hmm. Stupid question but does it have gas in it? Can you hear the fuel pump buzzing when you turn the key to the "on" position. If you're somewhere that you have some tools pull a spark plug and check for spark.

Trying to figure this out still. The car started. No lights. Ran fine my buddy made it home from work(not far 2mi if that). He let it sit at home and took the truck to work. This morning he took it to work and hasn't had a problem since. Anybody have any ideas? Or should we just leave it for now?

Car had about half a tank. And the plugs/coils where good.
