    side turn signals

    I could swear that the side turn signals are also marker lights (i.e. they glow steady when the headlights are on).

    Today I noticed they they don't come on with the headlights. The wiring must be intact, as they still flash when you lock the car, and they still function as turn signals.

    I was piddling with the central electronic module coding the other day (turning daytime running lights on / off), maybe i mangled something.

    I'm not sure what the daytime running lights engineering team was doing on this thing - it's ALL lights on, when DRL are enabled, including the cluster lights. I just want headlights or fogs, but that doesn't seem to be an option.

    Your DRLs are supposed to be your fogs, and the side markers should be on too, I believe. You're talking about the side markers on the headlight, not the fender right?

    No, I meant the marker/signal lamp in the rear part of the fender. Sorry if I wasn't clear. This isn't really specific to the DRL situation, I currently have the car set to no-DRL mode, and when I turn the headlights on, the fender marker lights don't light up.

    A week ago, also with DRLs disabled, I could swear the fender lights came on with the headlights (when switched on). Maybe I'm just losing my mind, though - so I came here for confirmation! :)

    As far as the DRL situation, here's the coding options:
    0xxx?: Country
    1 = Rest of World
    2 = Northern Countries (Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark)
    3 = USA
    4 = Canada

    1. (RoW) is no DRLs at all, current situation.
    4. Canada, is foglights, headlight corner-markers, taillights, possibly fender markers, and instrument cluster backlight. (like you turned on park + fog lights manually).
    3. USA - didn't try
    2. Scandinavia - same as Canada but fogs swapped for low beams. (like you turned on headlights manually).

    I want DRLs but having to have park lights and instrument cluster lighting on in addition to the fogs or lowbeam (which is normal..) is kinda silly?! It's like they just left the headlight switch on, if you enable DRL...
