Meaty winter tire setup for Q5

So I am picking up a Q5 for winter and just moved from FL to UT so I'm completely new to SUVs (had plenty of VWs and Audi's) and only driven in snow a few times.

I want to go for an off road look on the Q5 for winter to go up the mountain and some driving and possible camping that would require unpaved deep snow.

The look I really want is almost a M/T or A/T but from what I've read they don't perform well in snow like a dedicated snow tire. I would likely just be mounting the tires to the OEM 19's of the 17 Q5 3.0T S line.

Which snow tire has an aggressive tread pattern and how large (width and/or height) on the OEM 19's without rubbing? Also have several spacers I can run to get them out a bit.

Thanks in advance, I know it's not the normal route posters on here are looking to go but I've had tons of slammed VW/Audis and really want to go for a winter snow style truck for a few months to go snowboarding 2-3 times a week.

Good year Duratrac size 255/55r19. Same width as stock, but one inch bigger which is ok for ground clearance. If you have the normal suspension and not the sport one which is lower, I believe they would fit. Best unstudded A/T I have ever used in the winter up here in Canada. You might want to check the BFG All terrain KO2.

Is this the Goodyear tire you are referring to?

That would definitely be an aggressive look I would like to try to pull off but do they work as good snow tires for highway use too or am I making the vehicle more dangerous?

This is the closest thing I have found to a A/T tread but still a snow/ice tire.

Works perfect. Much quieter than one would expect on-road.... Perfect on ice, snow and slush. They are an A/T with the agresssive look of a M/T. Their only downside is that the sidewall does not like rockcrawling, which I believe you won't do anyway. But if you do, we wannt pics.

Sounds like they are popular with the Jeep guys for Snow and Ice. Just wasnt sure if these would be less safe than the all seasons for ice.

Am I going to be the first person to run this aggressive of a tire on a Q5?

I couldn't tell you as I am new to Audi myself, but they are not built to offroad.

Not like the Touareg by any means. But I don't plan on doing anything more serious than going up the mountain which sometimes is unplowed or parking in the unplowed overflow parking area. This is mainly for cosmetics, if I'm going to put snow tires on it I want an offroad look. We've been taking my girlfriends FWD Tiguan when we go camping and have spun the tires going up steep dirt roads a lot so I think the Q5 is going to fair much better regardless. The little snow we saw last year (moved here the last 2 weeks of season) I just drove my A5 and was fine.

Anyone have any experience with the Blizzak LM - 25? They seem to be a bit beafier than the other Blizzak and are run flat
