Anyone have experience with RaceChip tuning before? Looks like they have a product out for the B9 that may avoid the TD1 issue, can anyone confirm it? Seems like an interesting solution versus a hard flash on the ECU.

This is the same basic thing as the ChipWerke that has been around forever.

    ChipWerke

Same potential problems where the piggyback doesn't have access to full ecu. But people are running them and say good things.

Ended up ordering it at end of the 14 order period before the 15 was released.

Fair enough. Last question, why the hell would you want to go from a C7.5 S6 to a new A4? No offense to A4, I love the car but that's a major downgrade.

Is the initial lag improved? It drives me nuts now and part of the reason why I want to tune it. Looks like there is a difference of about 30 ft lbs of torque between this an the APR tune as well.

I don't sell cars anymore and needed to reduce my payment for the time being.

Have you tried sport mode in the transmission? That helps a little. The power difference is quite significant with the racechip though. Highly recommended.

I do usually leave it in Sport mode, I have noticed the better response off the line. I may give the racechip a try, i like how they give a 14 day money back if you dont like it. I want to try and keep this thing away from TD1 as I will probably end up in an S4 in the next 18 months or so

I had a Racechip on my last S6 with great success. This is the reason I decided to try it again on the A4.

Sorry for the dumb question guys, I usually mod BMWs. Is it plug and play? Will the dealer be able to find out and void your warranty? With COBB for BMW, this isn't an issue.

Just wanted to see how your longer term (few months, i know) has been with it? I am thinking about ordering it here today because i have a desire to buy something unnecessary.

Haha, I cannot be your voice of reason, my friends call me their worst enemy when it comes to convincing them to buy something. That being said, I'm very happy with the racechip. Bare in mind, I'm coming from 4 S6's in a row and the biggest thing I miss is the power. On my last S6 I also had a racechip for over a year with no issues. That's why I had no reservations trying it on the A4. While I don't have the previous power I was used to, the power I have now is much more usable in daily driving. Merging onto the highway is significantly more satisfying and just taking off from a light is fun again. The best part about this product is it has a return policy if you aren't happy with it. I can only suggest trying it. I doubt you would return it though.

Well, I actually had to discover this on my own since the salesperson didnt even know when I called. It seems the more expensive one(the one I got) you can control through bluetooth with an app. The regular one you have to take apart if you want to change any settings. I like the fact I can connect via the app and make any changes on the fly if I want. However, there is a caveat, if you have an android phone and updated to nougat, the app isnt updated for it. They responded to my complaint that they are in the process of updating it but in the meantime I cannot make any changes.

I actually collect all my phones, have about 7 in my closet. That being said, I don't really have any desire to make any changes to the racechip. I set it in race mode and that's where I want it.

In my opinion chipwerke is the most proven piggyback for Audi right now. I've been running it on my b8 s4 for over a year and it's great.

Just installed my and seems to be a decent little product, i need some more time to fart around with it. Started freaking out when it started throwing a code at me but i forgot to clip in one of the sensors all the way, whoops.

I felt like it needed some drive time to really kick in. I imagine its the ECU recalibrating and setting maps. Or it could be that I installed mine early morning and drive like a grandma through morning rush hour traffic. But later in the day (the following day?) it was very strong. Just curious, what setting did it come on?

How does this compare to APR or another reputable ECU tuning company? Are the gains similar, consistent and safe?
