    Smaller paddle shifters

I'm thinking about making the switch from B8 manual to B9 automatic. I really like being able to hold the left spoke of my steering wheel with my hand but I've noticed you can't do that with paddle shifters now. Any options to either have them removed (and covered somehow) or has anyone ever modified them so that they're smaller, like a button you push on the back of the wheel vs sticking out?

Just trying to see if anyone prefers the same driving style and have come up with a decent mod?

That new transmission ("ultra") makes me nervous and I would give them at least 2 years to work out any problems.

Yes I know and it makes me crazy. DSG and Torsen, or 6MT and 'ultra'. I don't want to wait another 2 years to get my first Audi!!!!

The Ultra mechanism just seems complicated- so many moving parts and cycling that thing umpteen million times just sounds like problems waiting to happen. I can't for the life of me understand why they would put the Ultra with the manual transmission. No one buys manuals for the efficiency anymore -they do it for the love of driving. Why would they not put their best Quattro behind it ???!?!!!
