K03's are ticking time bombs at 21psi. Ask me how I know...

Why not go mild stage 3? You can do k04 moderately for the price of going back k03. I will be listing some shortly that need rebuilding soon.

TTE 380 shows to be over 2,000 euros new. He would be better off as a low budget stage 3- at that point, but that is my opinion.

Tte 380's from tte are cheaper than through USP, nice option as the stock inlets can be used, save a few hundred bucks and zero fitment issues, similar power as k04's, get a set of chinsenow(sp?) oil/boost lines and should be good for a long time as long as you do proper cool down and warm up.

BW K04s are probably the best option if you're not looking to go crazy with the power levels. You can't beat their quick spool and reliability.

    My .02:

depends on your budget. In my experience, turbos blow; it's just a fact. Especially if they're chipped and you're using em. K04s are supposed to be more reliable, and those tte things are sposed to be good; but I really think you're talking incremental percentages at best.

back in the day, you could get sub 10k mile k03s for under 1k. And you've already got all the supporting mods. If they're still readily available at that mileage/price, go for it; I'm just not sure they are. In my experience I've never owned a turbo that lasts longer than 60k miles; proper warmup etc. followed. None of my friends that track their cars have either -- on any platform or turbo.

I forgot to mention to the op that I have a descent set of k03 turbos. The fins on one are chewed up alittle bit but they still made boost with no issue, just a little noisy. I would let them go for cheap if you wanted to send them off to be rebuilt.

I have OEM K04s, they are great turbos for street.

Super fast spool, boost is always available, I'm running about 22psi on a Daz tune (RIP)
