DSG filters, can they be changed at home?

So my S4 has 91k miles on it, i dont seem to have any trans issues and would like to keep it that way. I have read that both transmission filters should be done in the 75-85k mile range. Can these filters be done in the driveway so to speak and replace the fluid?

    thanks

Both can be done anywhere IMO. Just have something to catch the fluid and tools to remove them. What year model do you have? B8.5 has one on the side as well as the pick up

EDIT: just read you said both. You'll also need 7L of fluid if you drop the pan. 6L if you don't.

I'd personally stay away from doing it myself or at least check ELSA to read through the whole process and make your own opinion.

I know that you would at least need the to level the car when filling the fluid (i.e. you need a lift) and you would need to have your trans temp in the given range (i.e. you need at least vcds). Also, I'm unsure how is it possible to replace the DSG filter at all without dropping the pan, I think this is a must. So you would need not only the fluid but the gasket etc.

^^^ The initial models just had the pickup one inside the pan, which technically speaking is a life long filter that doesn't need replacing according to Audi, but everyone that does the fluid change replaces anyway. The later models had a cartridge one on the side as well (kind of like the engine oil filter is). That one can probably be changed without much fluid being lost if you change it after the car has sat overnight, but what's the point without a fluid change and changing the other one as well?
