Hey guys, my boyfriend made me this account and now I really want an aux chord so I'm taking over. To get an aux I need sw260, keys to open my radio and programming software. He has Windows XP and PA soft for his BMW and was wondering if he can use that OBD to USB connector to program my car when using the correct software? Aside from programming, does anyone know where I can get sw260 for cheap? I already read a DIY for making an aux cord, but these are my only roadblocks. Also note: I have an RNS-E nav unit.

What radio do you have in your car? Never mind. I just saw your last sentence lol.

Sorry, I can't really help. I had a Symphony II radio which was really easy to add aux. :( maybe some of the other people here with the RNS-E can chime in

I added one to my car for about $100 using only oem parts. There's a DIY around here somewhere I'll see if I can find it.

I did this as well, using a Radio Shack AUX jack, works great 2 years later.

That's the DIY I was looking at, but didn't see anything about where to get sw260. I also can't find a part number for the tools to remove the radio anywhere. Also, why do I need both those housings? Can't I just grab 1J0972977G and 3x000979009E and then radioshack the rest? And idk how to interface with my car. Can I use a standard OBD to USB one like what my boyfriend has or do I need a special one?

Not saying it's the best option, but it's my temporary fix until I get sw260 and a vagcom. You can splice an aux cable into the Sirius XM wires coming out the back of the headunit.

Would Bluetooth be easier? Or do you only want an AUX? I have a symphony II so I'm not sure the best way to do it.

Mine took 5 minutes and a $50 adapter and I had an aux.
