They aren't partnered with Audi. They are sold in dealers and the warranty is provided by them (ABT/MTM). That's why they're both so expensive.
For the record, we do the same thing in Germany. It's more expensive when bought that way than what somebody would pay in the US for just a tune.
I haven't touched an MTM box, so I can't say whether it's well built or not. I have explored the ABT boxes and they're very well designed and well made. If I was going to do a tuning box, that would be my choice.
For 1K, you probably can't go too wrong. Even if you don't like it or decide to get a proper flash tune later, it should be sell-able on eBay easily enough.
So ABT let's say is okay to go for rs6 c7 as I checked they offer easy tune box to go from 560 hp to 666 hp only with piggyback and 700 hp piggyback + exhaust from ABT
