Bosch - Making Parts in China or FAKE?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I had ordered a pair of Bosch Oxygen Sensors off Amazon, because Bosch and Prime Free 2-Day Shipping. Not to mention the price was good as they were both "Open Box"

They are both new sensors, never been installed. The Anti-Seize is somewhat neatly applied and not spread over all the threads, clearly showing they have never been screwed in.

One box was a bit crushed, the other nearly new looking.

I was surprised when I was looking them over, one label says Made in USA, The other says Made in China.

I didn't know Bosch made items in China.

The sensors look identical, down to the last detail except for the stamping. Same part number stamped on them, same Bosch logo.

What do others think of this? I'm somewhat inclined to think the one made in China may be a fake, but wouldn't they hide the fact it was made in China, if they were trying to pass it off as Bosch Genuine?
Does Bosch make some items in China? Do they carry the same quality?

    Just curious of your thoughts.

    per Bosch website:

"Bosch set up its first sales office in China as early as 1909. In 1926, the first Bosch car service was opened in Shanghai. Today, all four Bosch business sectors are present in China: Mobility Solution, Industrial Technology, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building Technology. In China, the Bosch Group manufactures and markets automotive original equipment and aftermarket products, industrial drives and control technology, packaging technology, power tools, security and communication systems, thermotechnology, home appliances. Having established a regional presence in China since 1909, Bosch employs close to 55,000 associates (as per December 31, 2015) and operated 62 legal entities and facilities, with sales of 77 billion yuan in fiscal 2015.

Wherever it does business, Bosch is committed to localization, and so we invested 2.7 billion yuan in the localization process in China last year - in research and development, manufacturing, and human resources. "Connected things" are one of the major megatrends of our age - one that has the potential to affect every aspect of Chinese society. We have great confidence that we are capable of making a major contribution to the connected world of the future."

Cheap labor is the way of most corporations these days. I'm sure the QA is still up to snuff and a key factor that sets BOSCH apart. I wouldn't worry.
