Are we supposed to lube the electronic parking brake at some point?

When I engage the electronic parking break it makes a little squeal. Works fine but I assume it may need a little "lube" action. Almost sounds like if you stepped on baby kittens tail lol.

I wonder if this is this is something I can accomplish myself. I'm coming up on 80k on my 2010 S5. I'd like to go over the door hinges, sunroof rails etc with some of the one grease.

It uses the same rear calipers and pads. Do you get noise when regularly using brakes? Mine makes a noise when EPB is engaged and released as the piston electronically presses in on the pads.

There are some spots that use grease where the pads slip back and forth.

I've noticed that squeal recently too. Curious if it needs a line lol

Thankfully only when engaged and released. I probably wash my wheels to often and I have dried up the damn line grease back there with adams AP cleaner lol. It has always made a noise, i just feel its louder than normal. I notice it a lot lets say if i am parked and my door is open and i engage it.

It's a sealed unit so you're washing technique must be pretty thorough if you've cleaned the grease out, might just be the pads that need a little copper grease on the slides?

If you have VCDS you can fully open and close the rear pistons, do that a couple of times to see if it clears the noise. I would recommend having the battery connected to a charger if you are going to do it though.

Here's it from the outside. I can't really hear it when the doors are closed while inside.

Mine has always made a similar noise to that, as does my wife's Touareg.

Only part of the car I lube is the tailpipe.
