    Randomly rebooting Climate control unit??

So im writing this to see if others have had an issue that is similar to mine. On very rare occasions, the climate control module will just randomly "reboot" itself 100% out of the blue. It doesnt happen often, but it has happened like 6 times already. It'll go dark, hard cut the blower motor, then come back up gracefully like I just started the car....

Not sure if this is indicative of something else or possibly a faulty IC connection on the controller board.

Have you been able to check the HVAC module for codes? Mine does something similar but not the same. As I'm driving, it will just cut fan speed to like 50% of the maximum. I cannot manually override this. When my AC was broken, which fortunately is now fixed, it was pretty bad because moving air was my only form of cooling and it got pretty stuffy. I later discovered that turning the ignition off and back on fixes that. I also scanned the module and discovered a "high resistance flap motor" code. Clearing it keeps it away for quite a while, but then it comes back and causes the issue again. Occasionally the fan will come back to normal while I'm still driving, as well. Very quirky.

Yup, this happens to me with my 04 S4, the fan randomly cuts out and the a/c system reboots itself. It happens maybe once a week or so, completely randomly. Might be a bad HVAC module but its never bothered me honestly, if you find a fix please let us know I'm sure there are more people who've experienced this. From what I can tell, it seems to be a B6 thing, do any B7 owners have this problem?

I've also had this happen in my 04. No idea what causes it

edit: I've also experienced two or three occasions where the HVAC controls seemed to be frozen, the A/C was still running and the display didn't change but none of the buttons would do anything so I couldn't adjust fan speed or anything like that. A minute or two later I'd try again and it would work normally. I've also seen a related code pop up but I don't remember exactly what the code was. I think it said something like HVAC module - no communications - intermittent.

hrrm, sounds like a faulty electrical connection then..... its likely its at the board level, does anyone have any pics of what the electronics look like inside the control module?
