VAG COM cable.... Non-Ross-Tech OMG!!!

Has anyone used this cable?

they claim to use the same chip as Ross-Tech OEM but completely dissociate themselves from them... I've ordered one, I'm just wondering if anyone has used this cable and thier experiences...

Yup, I have one and so far so good. Has helped me out with scanning. It is legit. Not sure what the major diff. Between products because i have never used the ross tech.

Awesome... I was taking a bit of a chance as they apparently ship from Australia... my main thought was that the HEX CAN cables on eBay and Amazon were slightly less expensive but seemed a little off... They offer full support, which is nice. Have you tried making any changes with it that normally wouldn't work with an eBay special cable?

I have not changed any setting s just yet. But it does work like described. And yea it does comes from down under aussie.

I have one, and have used it to successfully re-code at least 5 cars. I use it like a 100% legit cable.

If I remember correctly, the reason I shelled out the $300+ for the Ross-Tech cable was because you have to have a genuine Ross-Tech cable to use their full software? Isn't that what their policy is? Looks like the one in your link comes with activated software though, I'm guessing that's not officially authorized. Probably a cracked version that works but can't be updated, but again I'm just guessing here.

Actually, If I were Ross-Tech I would sure there asses too. The way Ross-Tech controls their software license is through the dongle. The offending company is reproducing Ross-Techs software license without authorization. Uwe has done a great service to our community and been a huge source of information by developing his product. How cheap do you have to be to rip him off?????

I hear ya!! I bought min Ross-tech almost 4 years ago and still have it to this day. I've seen used genuine cables go for like 295 on ebay so I'm not sure why people wouldn't just buy the real deal and then just sell it if you don't want to keep it.

The TPP has not passed yet and this is a local Pennsylvania company getting swindled. Then there's that Chinese crap out there too.

That is 100% on point. I cant update my software but ver 14 is more than modern enough to work on my/friends cars.
