Started with a 2011 Black 3.2. Powdercoated the peelers and swapped the grille. Since you've already noticed...I'll admit for the record that I drove around for quite a bit with the rsq5 badge still attached.
I traded up for a 2014 Glacier SQ5 - and fell in love
Which was taken too soon minding its own business at 3 am....the drunk who originally left his car disabled in the middle of the road and ran to who knows where...later returned to inquire with the police about vacancies at the county jail.
After a stressful few weeks and alot of back and forth with the insurance company they agreed to total the Glacier. Turned out to be perfect timing as a 2016 Daytona SQ5 popped up locally.
And so it begins!
2016 SQ5 Daytona Grey
21"
Pano
Alcantara Seats
B&O
Carbon Atlas
Technology Package
Black Optics
So far pretty minor cosmetic stuff - but thanks to all of you here at Audizine and the wealth of information on these forums, I have alot more planned
Blacked out Emblems
Bought some cheap black badges from http://www.audibadges.com/audi_badges.html
Quality is good so far, they've been on for a few months and no fading.
The adhesive backing they come with is pretty thick, I ended up scraping it off and using 3M emblem adhesive - but only after I decided they were 1/100th of a mm off kilter. They also just added black and red supercharged badges which will be shipping soon. I know some here have used the TAG offerings, but wow... they are asking ALOT of $. I'll update if these start to fade or something else goes wrong but so far so good!
I replaced the rear SQ5, rear rings, front rings and added a little flag on the right rear for shits n gigs. Those of you who de-badged might vomit a bit but it suits me
Supreme Power Spacers
Mops was able to get me a solid deal on some Supreme Power spacers. Italian made - zinc coated with black extended bolts. I went with 20mm / 15mm. If you are interested toss him a PM. Installed for a week or so - stoked on the new stance!
Powdercoated OEMs
Dropped my 21"s off at an excellent Campbell shop called Assassin Industries. Owner Steven did a great job and for an extremely reasonable price. I went with a gloss dark grey sparkle, but I may be changing it to a dark grey satin in the near future.
And that's it to date!
On deck is :
Opti-Coat
Center Caps (Once I determine what powder color I am sticking with!)
Suspension
AWE Exhaust
and new shoes
Thank you all for maintaining such an awesome community here - in my short time lurking audizine I've learned so much! Kudos to all of your beautiful Q5s - thanks for paving the way for those of us who are a bit behind the curve. Shout out to Mops and VroomVroom for responding to my PM barrages
